“Most American” Vehicle Goes to Jeep

Boasting a long and respected history, Jeep is known for its deep American roots and patriotic pride. So it comes as no surprise that two of the brand’s most popular models earned top spots as “Most American” vehicles. Last month Cars.com released their American-Made Index, which is used to inform buyers of the most American cars according to five key features: domestic parts content, country of engine origin, U.S. factory employment, country of transmission origin, and assembly location. When it comes to All-America, the 2017 Jeep Wrangler and 2017 Jeep Cherokee ranked number one and two.

Most American Vehicle is 2017 Jeep Wrangler

The Jeep awards keep on coming in for the 2017 Jeep Wrangler.  Earning the top spot as the most American vehicle, the 2017 Wrangler had the highest figures in terms of domestic part content. The 4-door model had the highest figures with a 75% domestic part content. The 2-door model was a close second with a 74% domestic part content. The body-on-frame design comes with electronic lockers, live axles, and a front and rear five-link suspension system. The Jeep Wrangler is available in a 6-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automatic transmission.

2017 Jeep Cherokee Comes in Second

Inside the 2017 Jeep Cherokee you will find Jeep’s legendary four-wheel-drive system that delivers unmatched off-road capability. With the 2017 Cherokee, drivers get to experience a 2.4 liter gas powered engine with a single overhead cam. The 2.4 liter offers 171 lb.-ft. of torque and 184 horsepower. The 4-wheel drive system offers automatic locking hubs with on demand 4WD and a 9-speed shiftable automatic transmission.
